Yes: equipment must comply with Regulation (EU) 2016/425, carry CE marking and have an EU declaration of conformity available. Federations require approved, compliant equipment for athletes to enter competitions.

EN 13277‑1 applies to all protective equipment; EN 13277‑7 to gloves and foot guards; EN 13277‑4 to headguards; EN 13277‑2 to shin guards. They cover impact, ergonomics, retention and coverage.

How can OEKO‑TEX®, GRS and bluesign® be verified?
